Although we’ve been marketing ever since we’ve had something to sell, the success of our marketing efforts have both increased and decreased over hundreds, if not thousands of years. The only thing that has remained consistent has been change. Of course, everything changes – customers get old, they acquire new tastes, new standards, start earning more, their priorities change, new competitors come into play, law and regulations change and most of all technology improves at lightning speed.

This fantastic infographic from HubSpot clearly highlights when technology was limited to the hands of a few before it slowly became available to the masses and eventually gave voice to consumers – enjoy.
